LISTENING TO YOU

Pat’s Weekly Column – May 10 2021

Throughout the year I spend a lot of time travelling around the mid-north coast listening to and discussing your issues, ideas, concerns, and opportunities.

Our community has been dealing with a number of challenges lately, with the impacts of the drought, devastating bushfires, COVID-19 and floods, and it’s been difficult for many to visit my offices, so I really want to make sure I’m out there hearing about the issues that are important to you.

Last year it was a little tricky at times to get out and about, however this year I have 17 mobile office locations lined up, and I’m really looking forward to meeting as many of you as possible.

My focus is on ensuring that everyone who lives in the electorate of Cowper has the opportunity to have their say, and one way that I do this is through my mobile offices.

I have a saying ‘people before politics’, and this mantra reminds me every day not to lose focus on what’s important, no matter where you live across the mid-north coast.

My first mobile office took place in Stuarts Point, and since then I’ve been in Willawarrin and Eungai Creek spending time understanding what’s important to you, so that I can assist you and represent you when I am in Canberra advocating for local issues.

If there is a matter that you want to raise with me I am here to listen, and whilst it would not be possible to meet with each and every one of you, there are a number of ways you can get in touch.

I have mobile offices coming up in Kempsey, Crescent Head, Nambucca Heads and Bowraville… so please keep an eye on my Facebook page, local newspapers and community notice boards for the dates, and more locations that will be announced shortly.

You can also share your thoughts through my website, by calling my office on 5507 9555 or emailing me at pat.conaghan.mp@aph.gov.au.

I’m here to listen and look forward to catching up with you soon.
